A visit from Shawn

I snapped this picture when Shawn was here on one of her visits. I wish it was not so dark. We will have to get a better one next time. Thanks for your support in our care of your father.

Christmas Dinner

Grandpa was not sure how to eat his chili bowl. He thought at first it was a giant sloppy joe. He picked the whole thing up and declared he could not eat. It was to hard. So we showed him. He then ate all his dinner with relish.

Mildred on the other hand took the top off her chili bowl and imediatly began to spoon her chili on the top. She loved her dinner but her favorit was the berry layered salad I made.
Gerold never said a word. He ate all his dinner and then had seconds on the chili. He ate most of the bread bowl as well.

This was the table all set before we dug in. We had chili in bread bowls that I made and then a big salad and then for desert we had a berry layered salad with whipped topping. I wish you could have seen them all drinking there juice out of the fancy glasses. It was a pleasant meal and time of fellowship.

Mildred enjoying her family visits over Christmas

Katie and her family came to visit on Christmas Eve. She was wide awake and very talkative. She was not at all pleased when she learned she was 85. If looks could kill we all would have been dead. LOL Thank you all for coming and making her holiday special. We love you for it.
She was awake and talking and enjoying every visit that Lanny and the kids made to see her. Well except the last. I had just wore her out giving her a shower and doing her hair. This is a great picture. Thank you for coming and spending time with her. Oh how she was happy those few days.

Opening her gifts that they brought her. She really is enjoying her family and is still enjoying all the cozy socks and clothes she got. Love you guys for making the holidays specail.

The rest of Christmas Eve

When Mildred opened her gift from us, she pulled out her socks, looked at them and put them on her head. She gave us a good laugh.
Now Gerold on the other hand was in love with his popcorn. He has still not forgotten and has eaten it all up. He kneels at his popcorn can and savors every bite.

Christmas Eve

Grandpa loved his popcorn for the first few minutes and then he lost interest. More fasinated with cleaning up the mess of Christmas. My right hand helper.

Mildred opening her gift from Martha. She is so cozy in her pink sweat shirt socks.

Gerold was having fun opening his gifts from Shawn. He looks nice in all his new clothes. Thankyou Shawn.

We got grandpa an new pair of jeans for Christmas. He is still sliming down a bit.

Welcome to our home! In these pages are some of the fun memories with your loved ones.

Thank you so much for sharing them with us and intrusting them into our care. They are very dear to our hearts. We laugh together and cry together and Praise God together.

We are happy to serve our community here in Michigan. We take private and state pay residents ages 60 and up. This is God's home and it has been dedicated to Him in loving service.

We are a family here. Your loved ones come be in a family setting instead of a formal home. Stop in for a visit and see what we are like and get to know us a bit.

We also have family worship which they are welcome to attend if they choose. With singing and guitar.
May God richly bless all of you, and maranatha! Jesus is coming!
