Praising God Answers Prayer

When our new resident Mr. G moved in he expressed interest that he wanted to go to church with us. But he has appointments 3 days a week and they are scheduled for Tues. , Thurs. , and Sat. A couple of weeks ago my husband was talking to him on there way home and he again said that he wanted to go to church. My husband told him ok we are going to pray about it and if your appointments can be changed then you have to come. We had been on a waiting list and told that it took a long time for turn over.
Our church family was praying too and 4 days later they called and asked us if we would mind coming for his appointments on Mon. , Wed., and Fri. instead. He came to church with us Sabbath. It was a delight and we are so very happy. He just seemed to love it and participated in the discussion and everything in Sabbath School. We are so blessed. A missionary field in our home here. It is a privilege to serve these people that God has brought here.

Passing Days with Handy Work

Miss E making some pillow cases for her grandaughter and they are just beautiful. It is so fun watching them take shape. She is really talented little lady.
Just beautiful Miss E. Keep up the beautiful work
Miss M is making a quilt by hand. She start with the old fabric and saw a pattern in her mind and just went to work cutting and sewing together by hand. Has been fun watching her work as each colorful block takes shape and she decides just exactly where to put each piece.
Here is just a small pile of finished blocks. They are all joined together with white blocks when she is done. Very pretty and bright.

A New Day

Yesterday we posted of Spring and today we are a winter wonderland. I just know that when Miss M gets up this morning she will have plenty of sadness for no sunbathing at the breakfast table.
Our crocus and tulips are buried for another day. The little birds are already busy at the feeders. Soon everyone will be rising and shining. I am off to make breakfast and get things set up for the day. Mr. G is already up and drinking his coffee and watching the news and I am sitting in the quiet of the other living room enjoying a moment of peace before the busyness begins.
Breakfast this morning is cream of wheat, toast and peaches. Everyone has their special little quirks about their meal and it is time to make each one special. I love my job and each person that God has brought here into our lives to love and care for. It is an honor.
I am off to the kitchen to start my day. Have a great day everyone.

Our Two Babies

Two little girls waiting for Miss E to be done with breakfast.

Signs of Spring

Oh the glorious sun was out this morning making all of us long for spring. One of my little ladies always sits at the breakfast table a little longer and sunbaths. It felt so good to be out poking in the flower beds and seeing the tulips and crocus poking their tops up to reach the sun. Joe was out raking the rocks that are compliments of the snow plows and the birds were busy at the feeders chirping their happy songs. It was a happy day here at Crystal Haven. Can hardly wait for it to be warm enough to take them all outside and sit on the front porch. Sometimes we sit out there and have worship or popcorn in the evenings. On hot summer days Ice cream cones. We have gotten miss M out to walk around the yard a little and Mr. G out to take walks when we walk the dogs. Oh I don't think I have posted a picture of the little dogs lately. Will do that soon. Well that is a day here. Have a good night all.

A special Valentines Day full of good food and entertainment and family.

We had a wonderful day planned for everyone. Started off with waffles topped with peaches and ice-cream and all the fixings on the side. Then we had Mr. Hallock come and sing all the good ole songs that these sweet people love. For lunch we had Herb roasted potatoes and baked chicken with all the yummy sides and special valentine cupcakes. It was a fun filled day and everyone was full of laughs and smiles.

Apple Yuminess

I made Cinnamon Apple Muffins for breakfast this morning with a struedel topping. It was a hit for sure. That and the sun shining in the window on the breakfast table gave us all a longing for spring. Can hardly wait till we can all get outside and enjoy the fresh air.

Was a lovely day here in our home. Feels good to be back on here again after so long of not posting anything. We have had a full year this last year. We said goodbye to 3 of our residents and are looking forward to the resurrection morning when Jesus will call forth those that are sleeping till He comes.
We get so attached to the sweet people that come to bless our lives. I am truly grateful for every single resident that God has brought here. I wish you could all peak in here and see the fun that we have here. The laughter and love fills the house with so many memories.
Not saying that we don't have our days that are long and trying. I believe God gives us what we ask for and it is a servant like attitude that we carry with us. To love others and treat them the way we would want to be treated. Love and gentleness and kindness and longsuffering.
Make me a servant Lord is the theme of my heart.
Have a good night all and talk to you tomorrow.

Hey folks we have an empty bed here at Crystal Haven

We have an opening here and would love to have your loved one come and be a part of our family. This is the room with the vacancy in it. We remodeled it in September of this last year. It is homey and bright with the big window facing the east. Give us a call or stop in for a visit. We would love to meet you. We have home cooked meals, family setting and a christian atmosphere. Looking forward to our next resident moving in and changing our lives for the better.

Tasty Home Cooking

Rhubarb Peach Pie this was a hit for sure. Everyone said it tasted better then it looked. Is fun to create pretty yummy dishes.
Homemade bread hot out of the oven with butter melted over the crusts. In the back is vegetarian chops. For those who like that kind of food. Some are vegetarian and some are not here. I aim to meet the needs of our residents. My husband and I are vegan.
Oooozing yumminess for sure.... served with icecream. No one turned this down and seconds requested.

Welcome Gerry to our Family

This is Gerry and we are so thankful that he has come to be a part of our family. It is a blessing that God brought him here. He has added some wit and laughter to that family circle and loves to get out and do things with us. Taking walks nearly everyday that the weather permits is one of the things that we love to do.
Welcome to our home! In these pages are some of the fun memories with your loved ones.

Thank you so much for sharing them with us and intrusting them into our care. They are very dear to our hearts. We laugh together and cry together and Praise God together.

We are happy to serve our community here in Michigan. We take private and state pay residents ages 60 and up. This is God's home and it has been dedicated to Him in loving service.

We are a family here. Your loved ones come be in a family setting instead of a formal home. Stop in for a visit and see what we are like and get to know us a bit.

We also have family worship which they are welcome to attend if they choose. With singing and guitar.
May God richly bless all of you, and maranatha! Jesus is coming!
