Productive Day!!!!

 Joe has been scraping and painting the front patio roof. It needed it so bad and is going to have a fresh white coat of paint. His poor arms are getting tired of being above his head all the time. Sure does look nice though. I really appreciate all his handy work.

 My son Kohn came out and helped finish making the flower bed with me. I sure appreciated all his help. Even Stella came out and was joining in the family fun. The residents were all taking naps except Mr. G. He came out for a bit but was watching a movie. See all those rocks. We had to make a home for them. It sure did turn out nice. My sweetie certainly got points for suggesting more rocks.

 All done and I am in love just imagining all the flowers. I would like to plant perennials and so if anyone has any suggestions for lots of color in Michigan. I am open to suggestions. I know I would like to put some roses in. Not sure what else. Thought of moon flowers and red hot pokers. We had those growing along the driveway when I was little and the humming birds loved them.

 Joe and the guys were talking smack about my flower gardens. Ya know how most people clear their yards of rocks and I go and collect them and bring them into the yard. Well as we were getting dinner ready Mr. G comes out in the kitchen and hands Joe the phone and says call and have her committed she is crazy. LOL leave it to Mr. G. to have the wise crack. It opened up a whole new bunch of teasing. All in fun of course. HMMMM do you think I will get any help in maintaining them ??

My other project!!! I hated the old dingy flowered pads on the patio furniture. So I went and looked in some of the fabric that my dad gave me that had been my moms and found this heavy upholstery fabric. I really liked it and so I decided to fix this patio cushions. I love it hmmmm maybe some cute little pillow to go on them too?? I think that on the little benches that sit by the chairs will get some little pots and plant some impatiens. That should be a bright splash of color. We spend happy evenings here!!

Good Night To Our Day Of Rest

It has been so nice to have the Sabbath. With our week last week being so busy and long, our Sabbath was extra welcomed. We had my son home as well. Mr. G. went to church with us again this week and that was really nice. Then we came home and my son and I played guitars and sang for a long time. Miss E and Miss D came and sat and listened and sang along. Then we had supper and I made fluffy biscuts and we had fresh strawberries on them. All in all was a wonderful day. Did I mention a huge thank you to our worker Joni for all she does?? We got to take a two hour nap this afternoon as well. Much needed. Now tomorrow starts a busy week. Hope to see you all soon! The open house begins one week from tomorrow.

MAKING MORE WORK

We have been super busy getting ready for the open house that is coming up in a little over a week. You know all the little extras and spring cleaning plus all our normal everyday work with the residents. My husband knows how much I love to create new flower beds and that I have a rock fetish. He sees that the field across the road was being plowed and that they were clearing rocks out of the field. So he tells me that if I go and ask the nice farmers that they will probably bring a bucket full over and dump them in my yard. Well I finally get the nerve up to go and ask and they were soon dumping rocks in my yard. Like I didn't have enough to do already.

So now I have all these rocks to put somewhere. You should have seen the residents inside watching. Miss E told me that my husband told me to get the rocks just because he is trying to make me happy. She is so right. He is always looking for little ways to say I love you. Mr. G and Mr. N were laughing and shaking their heads at me. They found it all very amusing. However Mr. G came out and helped move a few rocks when he was out for his walk.

Joe took these two well three huge rocks and put them on either side of the driveway. It will all look really nice when I get a chance to get  the flower beds all made and flowers in them of course. So now you will all have to come on out and see us and all our hard work. Tomorrow will have to post a picture of the work my sweetie is doing. 

Blessed By Singing Bands

We were blessed by having some of the members from the Cedar Lake Church come and sing and share their talents with us. I think everyone joined in picking a song  Even Mr. N chose the Old Rugged Cross.One young lady shared her talents by playing along on her violin as well.  At the end we had a scripture reading and prayer. God is so very good and we are all blessed. Thank  you to those who came for sharing and making our Sabbath a blessed and very Happy One Indeed. We are looking forward to having you come back again very soon. Maybe we will have new faces for you to get to know. 

Open House May 6 - 9

We are going to have an open house May 6-9 from 10:00am to 7:00pm each day. Serving homemade cookies and some lemonade. Come take a tour of our home and meet all of us. We are looking forward to meeting all of you.
