Visit from the Pathfinders Mt. Pleasant Monarchs

The Pathfinder Club came down and toured our facility last week. The boys had a great time. I showed them all the things we do and then we sat and sang some songs and I told them stories. The ladies loved hearing them when we were singing too. Made their day. I wish sometimes that the school kids would come more often. Is good for the elderly to have that interaction.I took their blood pressures and pulse ox levels. They loved it. But I think the highlight was the catching of the fish in the pond, I needed them caught and brought in for the winter and they were more then happy to take turns with the net. We caught not only fish but the poor frogs that were trying to winter them selves in the mud ant the bottom. Was great fun. They did a great job.

  Getting their blood pressures done

I can do it just watch and this is how you do it!!!!

Are you sure I think this will work better don't you??

There is a big one did you see it??

very cold and slow frog. Poor baby got woke up from his long winters nap.

One of the baby fish they caught for the tank inside so they don't freeze during the winter.

Busy Days

A collage of pictures of my busy Wednesday. Lets see there were 4 showers and meals and laundry. Miss E got her hair cut and took all the vitals. Breakfast was a hit with poached eggs and toast with peaches and Activia. Wednesdays are always full for me. Getting lots done and keeping up with everyone. The little extra things we don't do everyday. Like trimming nails and painting those that want them and the hair cuts ect. Sometimes I do the extras on Sunday like perms. Today we were blessed with a volunteer for a couple of hours. Joe and I went to dinner and then picked up somethings for gifts. You know the holidays are coming up. Thank you so much to Miss J's daughter. We love you.
Just some of the table decorations for Fall. I love them. Have been using them for several years now on the resident table. They like the different decorations that we use for different holidays. Hope you are all having a great day. Everyone here is settled in for the night and tomorrow is another busy day here.

Just a little update

Its been a very busy summer and fall. I know I have not posted here to much but have not been sitting much at my computer. I am hoping I will have a little more time this winter to keep up and post the things that happen here on a more daily basis. Or at least weekly. lol.
We still have a full house. Everyone is getting over a cold here and starting to perk up a bit. This makes me very happy. Its hard watching them when  they don't feel good and there just isn't a whole lot you can do about it.
So on happier notes, we have some holidays coming up and are looking forward to making them fun and special again this year. If you have any idea's please share them in comments here or our facebook page. I love to have input from all of you.

Our supper the other night. Butter Nut Squash Soup, salad with mandarins, pecans, onions and spinach, and toasted cheese bread. It was a hit on a cool evening.

Happy 89th Birthday Miss E

We celebrated Miss E's birthday tonight. I made them reubens and fries. With peaches on the side. Then we had cupcakes for desert. Everyone signed the card and she is loving the new book. Sitting and reading it as I am writing this. We love you Miss and are praying for many more birthdays with you!!

HALLOWEEN VISITORS

We had sweet little visitors for Halloween this year. They came a few days late however. Everyone here had been sick with terrible colds. They all loved seeing the kids all dressed up and we gave them a little candy for their bags. Thanks Faith for bringing your sweet babies over for all of us too see and enjoy. It was appreciated very much.
Welcome to our home! In these pages are some of the fun memories with your loved ones.

Thank you so much for sharing them with us and intrusting them into our care. They are very dear to our hearts. We laugh together and cry together and Praise God together.

We are happy to serve our community here in Michigan. We take private and state pay residents ages 60 and up. This is God's home and it has been dedicated to Him in loving service.

We are a family here. Your loved ones come be in a family setting instead of a formal home. Stop in for a visit and see what we are like and get to know us a bit.

We also have family worship which they are welcome to attend if they choose. With singing and guitar.
May God richly bless all of you, and maranatha! Jesus is coming!
