Nina and her husband Wayne were our first residents. They moved in July of 2006. They truely stole our hearts. Nina and I had a bond that could not be broken. She became my spiritual mentor. She also comforted me through the loss of my mother this year. Her is a bit of who Nina was.She was born in 1918 in Wisconsin. Later her family moved to Cedar lake where she went to school clear through her twelveth grade. She met and then married Wayne Spraymen in1942. She graduated from Melbe Academy of Beauty Culture and owned her own beauty shop in Lansing. Then later she got her practical nursing at Delta College. She and her husband moved to Harrison. She worked as Assistant Director of Nursing at Clare Nursing home for 27 years. She also taught Nursing assistant classes for Mid Michigan College and Home health aide classes for the American Red Cross.
She was an avid bird watcher and loved to work in her yard and gardens. She also loved to entertain. She read her bible through many times. Including the last 6 months of her life she read it through again. She also published many poems with National Poets Society.
Nina was a very accomplished women. She loved to have fun and was full of laughter. I miss our long talks and her keeping me in line. LOL
